The Sony Xperia models have gone a very long way, from coming out with models as small as the Sony Xperia Tipo, tagged at a price of approximately Rs. 9000/- and then there are high end phones like the Sony Xperia Z that made mark though it was tagged a hefty price of approximately Rs.40000/-. The Sony Xperia Z turned out to be a breakthrough in the industry when it claimed to be "waterproof" and "dust-proof" it did to grope in a few raised eyebrows, the other manufacturers in the industry did turn around to take a look at the phone, this phone was laid a whole new benchmark in the market and entered into fierce competition with other major brands in the market.
The phone looks incredible by its external with a neat and clean finish, the looks of the phone makes you drool over it, in other words, the first look makes the fact evident that the product is form Sony. The company that has mastered the idea of the making electronics that looks good.
Speaking of some of the major specifications, the "Sony Xperia ZR" is powered by the Google’s operating system for mobile phones, Android Version 4.1 Jellybean with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor with Quad Core, 1.5 GHz Krait capacity, its powered by a 2300mAh battery, that would offer a battery backup of up to 13 hours, this were the hitch lies in the phone. Though Sony has offered the best of features for hardware and software, it should have worked on the battery as well; a 13 hour battery back would not sustain extensive usage of browsing and would be drained out of battery pretty much sooner than expected.
The camera it sports is of 13.1 MP with a resolution of 4128x3096 pixels and all the features that come equipped with it like the auto-focus LED flash, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization, sweep panorama, HDR etc., and then the "Sony Xperia ZR" also supports video recording at the resolution of 1080 pixels at the rate of 30 frames per second, clearly HD is at your fingertips.
A phone with such amazing features would have really good connectivity features to offer, the Sony Xperia ZR supports 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, DLAN, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth version 4.0 with A2DP and USB connectivity, no doubt about that. It’s Sony, do all the companies, such factors should be of any concern to the user.
The overall features of the phone seems to be quite promising expect for the TFT screen it features, it’s high time Sony ditches is boring TFT screens and switch to SLCD3 or an AMOLED screen.
So what makes the phone unique from the others? With the Sony Xperia ZR, you can live a whole new life; you can record HD videos underwater, perhaps the first of its kind. The 720p HD display is another distinct feature of the phone and the 4.6 Inch HD reality display just takes you on ride of the best viewing experience, irrespective of what you are watching on the phone.
The MobileBravia® Engine 2 projects an intelligent screen that optimizes the images easily and automatically making your picture and videos brighter and cleaner than they have ever been. Not to forget the neat contrast and color that he offers otherwise. The phone also features an OptiContrast™ panel that gives clearer images when it is turned on the phone.
What is so special about the Camera of the Sony Xperia ZR that it overpowers the phone itself to be called an underwater camera in the disguise of a phone. The Sony Xperia ZR features High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging technology, with HDR you can capture the same image in different exposure levels and then the technology layers them together to bring out one optimized image. You can also record videos with HDR even on high contrast frames like the behind a windscreen and still get quality stuff in the process.
And when there are so many amazing features packed in one phone, you really needn't worry about low light, do you. The super sensitive Exmor RS™ just does the job for you; all you have to do is say cheese. The Exmor RS™ is almost a breakthrough for with its image sensor technology, and well supported by its next-gen BSI light sensor and this technology of luminescence and reduce color noise you will only get highly detailed shots even in haywire light conditions with super elite quality, irrespective of when, where and how do you snap them.
So with such a powerful camera in the bag, the "Sony Xperia ZR" is indeed a great a camera in the disguise of a phone, tagged at the price of approximately Rs.30000/- this phone is like a compressed version of its predecessor, the Sony Xperia Z and definitely worth the price tag it carries.
